Editing day 1

Ruta, Katie and I came back to college after it reopened, and together we watched the editing Molly has done so far for the video. There were a few problems with it, the main one being that she used a Coldplay song as the main track which of course was not copyright free.

We began editing by first listening to all of Marianne’s speech, picking out key points and summarising it. Then we had a critique with Marianne and David, but after a short discussion we decided that they should come back to critique us on Friday(6th) instead.

From word doc. :

Track 12 : The event did respond to the context a Christmas period – respond to shoppers-alternative Christmas event-set up a grotto inspired environment– 3 sections: innocent joy – enchanted woodland, playful encounters- community based work, dark wit-clinical presentation of work maybe satirical meanings- In conclusion, not really a Christmas event but it responded to the social context of Christmas

After this we reviewed all the shots together, collecting ideas of what footage should go over which part of the speech etc. We made a list of the shots we will potentially use and gave them each a small description to make the editing easier. We also stitched up all the timelapse images.
