How to understand a Picasso
I’ve always had trouble understanding pieces of art like those of Picasso. This video essay by the Nerdwriter1 has definitely helped in giving me something to look for when looking at such works of art.
How to read a painting
Eye-opening. Definitely gives me something to look for next time I visit any paintings
Shot, Reverse shot
Once again another amazing video essay by Tony Zhou. In this video he talks about Joel & Ethan Coen’s style of filmmaking, specifically when shooting shot and reverse shots. The use of wide angle to give a sense of presence, to exagerate any camera movement or any action of the characters, and also to capture the environment surrounding the character. He also talks about the rhythm of the Coen’s editing
Some of my photographs
I have never developed my own film and enlarge them before, and this year I spent my easter holiday down in Vernon street’s photography department doing so. I learnt alot from Eddie (the technician) on enlarging, and I think the most useful thing to have while enlarging and developing is patience. I made many mistakes, most of which was due to my impatience.
